Summit’s Up is a boat rally and craft fair taking place between Manchester and Warland, at the summit of the beautiful Rochdale canal. We invite you to join us in celebrating this historic waterway, which joins the industrial heartland of Manchester to the stunning peaks of the South Pennines.
Starting of in the centre of Manchester the Rally will climb (with assistance!) the 48 locks up to the very summit of the canal, culminating with an evening of music and drinking at the small hamlet of Warland.
On Thursday, July 21st all are invited to join us at Warland Farm to join in the celebrations as we join the locals in an evening of music, eating and merriment, as we celebrate the start of the Rush Bearing Festival by dressing the Rush Cart ready for its procession into town.
The fun doesn’t stop there! On Friday 22nd July you can join the boats as we follow the Rush Cart down to Littleborough, accompanied by troupes of folk dancers, and spend the weekend enjoying the treats of the famous Littleborough Rush-Bearing festival.
